Josephine Goes to Preschool

Josephine, who has been ready for preschool seemingly forever, finally got her chance to go, and she loved it.  She woke up dancing, she hardly stopped smiling all morning, she rushed into her classroom to play, and she told story after endless story when I picked her up.  She's so very happy, and she'd like to go every day.  It's hard for her to wait for the next day since she only goes two mornings a week!

Josephine's favorite breakfast (blueberry strudel muffins) was waiting for her when she woke up.

She could hardly stop laughing and smiling long enough to eat!

J feels very special that it's her turn for a school card.  (And, if you look closely, that's J and Meow on her shirt.)

Hugs for Apba!

Do a little dance.

Show a little backpack.

Hugs for Mama.

This was a really sweet idea.  (Please ignore the spelling... which made me question my decision in preschools.  *sigh*  In their defense, they did fix it later.)

Getting down to business at the cubby.

Finding her name tag.

Bye, bye, Apba!  I'm ready for the day!

Preschool Visit

Josephine got to greet her teacher today.  It's so hard to believe that she's starting preschool soon (or maybe it's hard to believe she's not already in kindergarten... I'm not certain)!

J and Apba ready to meet the teacher!

Truman Turns Six!

Well, it's official.  After days and days of celebrating, the real birthday is finally here.  Our son is six years old!  Here's how we spent his special day.

It was important that everyone at school know about this day.

Ready for T to wake up!

I had the privilege of going to T's class to read a book.  No treats allowed, so handed out truffula tree bookmarks to the class instead.

Birthday pancake!

A little singing and candles at breakfast is sure to start the day off right.  David got to join Truman at school for lunch, too, so that made the day extra special.

T's birthday cake.

He got all those candles in one blow.

Looks to me like he's thinking of a wish.

I think he's had a good day.

The kids face off!

T's chosen dinner:  Chinese food.

Build-A-Bear Day

As a way of continuing Truman's birthday celebration, we went to a Cardinals game for Build-A-Bear day.  We've been the past few years, and it's always a good time.  They were celebrating Fredbird's birthday at the stadium, so it was especially fun this year!  Seeing Fredbird two days in a row for birthday events?  Too cool.

T is at one of his very favorite places.

J enjoys playing with Fredbird more than watching the game.

Everybody enjoys cotton candy.

New good buddies.

Truman's Cardinals Bowling Birthday Bash

T told me awhile back that he wanted his friend party to be a "Cardinals birthday at a bowling alley."  Here's how we worked it out!

Someone is ready for his party!

 Let the games begin!

Proud and happy.

Roll!

A special surprise guest arrives!

I'm glad the kids were happy.

Too cool for school (or maybe just right cool for school)!

Fredbird attempts to make a getaway with lunch.

Family!

Who knew Fredbird could take his hat off?

Josephine gets in on the fun.

Group shot!

"NO WAY!" to Fredbird signing autographs.

The cake!

Jumping high fives.

Fredbird bowls.

Goodbye hugs.

Blow out the candle!

Mmmmmm.

At home, Truman really enjoyed reading the cards and pictures that his friends brought for him.  Thanks, everyone!
